FUSION Electronics introduces world-first internal iPod docking to car audio with the CA-IP500 iPod Receiver. Simply pull down the face plate of the unit to reveal a unique internal iPod dock allowing you to dock your iPod inside the head unit!
FUSION first introduced internal iPod docking to marine audio in early 2008, and has now transferred the technology over to car audio. Docking your iPod inside the head unit not only provides a secure, protected location for your iPod inside your vehicle, but also eliminates unnecessary cables and installation hassle.
With your iPod docked and charging inside the CA-IP500, a completely integrated user-interface mirrors the menu system of the iPod, ensuring simple control of your iPod directly from the head unit. Additionally, a dual function rotary knob / joystick replicates the function of an iPod click-wheel, making it effortless to navigate.
This 50W x 4 MOSFET iPod Receiver also combines the benefit of an AM/FM tuner and RDS, and features an OLED screen. Providing a greater brightness and contrast as well as a significantly wider viewing angle than conventional LCD screens, the OLED screen displays excellent graphics and improves menu navigation. SRS Wow Sound Shaping produces simulated surround sound to greatly enhance the audio experience.
FUSION’s CA-IP500 is compatible with the following models of iPod:
- iPod classic (Gen5 and Gen6)
- itouch
- iPod nano (Gen2 and Gen 3)

This basically means, the CA-IP500 is compatible with any iPod purchased in the last 2 ½ years, with the exception of the iPod shuffle and iPod nano Gen 1. Currently, it is not yet compatible with the iPhone.
